We are proud of our alliance with CareSpan in Minnesota for our customer HealthPartners. Our partnership provides patients with access to superior programs and services while providing our health plan customers with meaningful clinical and health improvements for their members and with improved financial performance.

HealthPartners CareSpan

HealthPartners CareSpan is a partnership between QMed, AirLogix and Alere Medical for members of HealthPartners, a large Minnesota health plan. HealthPartners CareSpan assists its plan members suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and coronary artery disease by offering integrated disease management programs.

Within HealthPartners CareSpan we engage physicians through our collaborative relationship. Importantly, many of the program's physician groups have already instituted Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and then we receive their data over secure lines for placement into our database for analysis. This process demonstrates the flexibility and power of our evidence-based, clinical information management system. A widespread national adoption of EMR, as currently being pushed by Congress and the Administration, has positive implications for this data collection aspect of our operations.

At QMed, we also provide personalized medical recommendations to the physicians for their patients suffering from diabetes and coronary artery disease. Our analysis of the patients' medical records also fills another vital function for our customer-we are able to identify many patients otherwise unknown to the health plans who suffer additional chronic illnesses. Consequently, we are able to refer those patients to our HealthPartners CareSpan program or to other programs run by our customer, HealthPartners.
